  1. Why do KS headphones a DIN plug??? What’s up with that?
Copying conservative Naim or something? What is the benefit of that, that you need their amplifier?

    1. The Kingsound KS-H2 and KS-H3 are electrostatic headphones. Electrostatic headphones require a bias voltage to charge the panels in order to play audio. The Bias voltage is the 5th pin on the Din connector. All electrostatic headphones require a similar connector configuration. These headphones can not be used with a typical dynamic headphone amplifier. They require an electrostatic headphone amp to be driven.

  2. These look very interesting! I haven’t really tried electrostatic headphones before. Is there a noticeable difference from standard dynamic headphones?

    1. Like anything in audio it has it’s own signature sound. Electrostatic headphones are very dynamic sounding. Because the panels are very light and excited by a bias current they are very fast sounding. Very light on their feet. They can some times be called bass light unless they are an expensive electrostat like the Stax 009. However the Kingsound headphones do a very good job with the lower frequencies. While they do not have the bass authority of say the Audeze LCD-3, they still have a nice natural bottom end. I tend to like to match electrostatics with tube amps to add a little warmth to the sound. But they can be very magical headphones.
